A member asked:

What can cause numbness/tingling in the whole middle and upper back in a 26/f. comes and goes throughout the day, more prominent after working out.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pinched nerve : A pinched nerve in the lower cervical spine (neck) or upper thoracic spine can cause these symptoms. A pinched nerve can be from a ruptured disc (unlikely at your age) a muscle spasm (likely) or a bony spur (unlikely). If tingling persists longer than 6 weeks or increases you should see a doctor to evaluate.
