Yes: Some antibiotics have been proven completely safe in pregnancy. Others, like Cipro (ciprofloxacin) or bactrim, have risks in pregnancy. In general, an infection during pregnancy can be much riskier than the antibiotics you take. Just make sure that the doctor prescribing them knows you are pregnant.

Yes some: All antibiotics cross the placenta in varying amounts. Certain antibiotics are generally safe to take during pregnancy such as penicillins, cephalosporins and erythromycin. Others offer significant risk to the developing fetus such as tetracycline, sulfa drugs, quinine, voriconazole and others.
