Trauma: You may have a tear in the vagina from intercourse which can cause a lot of bleeding. Another reason to bleed after intercourse is if the cervix is infected or has precancerous/cancer cells of the cervix. If you are up to date with your pap smear screening, you can wait to see if it happens again after intercourse before seeing your doctor.
