No: You just need to take extra precautions during the pregnancy to limit the potential risk of the fetus becoming infected- especially during birth. Oftentimes your OB will prescribe Valtrex (valacyclovir) during the last 4 weeks of pregnancy and watch for any genital lesions that might cause an infection to the delivering baby. Herpes is very very common among women. Not to worry.
