Different causes: The most common is normal variation of puberty. There is usually a family history of late blooming in this case. Other causes of delayed puberty include radiation, chemotherapy, problems with the pituitary gland development or structural problems in the brain part that controls the pituitary gland or in the pituitary gland itself. The best thing is to see a pediatric endocrinologist.
