X-linked: The most common colorblindedness is an x-linked trait. That means it occurs almost exclusively in males and is passed to them from a defect x from their mothers. Your mother could have gotten this gene from her mother. In this case, there would be no relatives with it. Ps. Ask your mother's father if he is color-blind.
