A member asked:

What are age spots and how do you get rid of them?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stop the sun first: This is not a medical diagnosis and many patients refer to age spots which could reflect a variety of lesions such as actinic keratoses, solar lentigines, melasma, lentigo maligna, and seborrheic keratoses. Some of these are benign and will respond to skin care with exfoliation and possible mechanical, chemical or laser peels or resurfacing. Others may benefit from Retin-A therapy or biopsy/excise.
