A member asked:

How long after mono symptoms go away can you drink alcohol and be sexually active?

No and NO!: Alcohol is bad for your immune system, makes you more susceptible to a variety of infections and makes it harder for you to get over them. If you are sexually active, you are spreading your mono, which unless you inform your sexual partners that you have, you are putting them at risk of your illness. This is irresponsible, at the very least. In addition, most people with mono need a lot of rest.

Hard to say: Mono has a variable effect on patients with some quite impaired and some with a light case. It has the tendency in most to cause inflammation of the liver, which will self heal over time but to your question. The liver must detoxify the alcohol you consume. In some patients it takes months before their liver heals. You might want to try it slow for a while.
