Soon after puberty: The facial skeleton generally matures in the later teen years. For this reason, elective surgery (e.g. Rhinoplasty) is delayed until the nose has stopped growing. Substantial surgery on the nose prior to that time may disrupt the "growth centers" and prevent the nose from reaching its full size.
