A member asked:

What type of birth contol pills will cause less break-through bleeding during your period?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varies: I really believe it is more of an individuals body chemistry response to an individual pill. Monophasic pills tend to cause less breakthrough bleeding, and a 30mcg Estradiol pill may give slightly greater endometrial stabilization to avoid breakthrough bleeding. It's really a matter of trial and error to find a birth control pill that doesn't cause any breakthrough bleeding or other side effects.
