More than an adult!: A baby, when crying, upset, or in pain, will have a heart rate in the vicinity of 180-200 bpm. I have even seen infant heart rates go slightly higher. However, after the source of the stress is removed and the infant calms, the heart rate will come down to around 120-140 bpm.
