Psychotherapy: Personality disorders are longstanding patterns of behavior that interfer with a person's overall functioning. These disorders do not resolve on their own and are best treated in psychotherapy from a psychodynamic or cognitive-behavioral focus.

Symptoms: It varies depending on the disorder. For all personality disorders, the symptoms are primarily what is treated. These include (again, depending on disorder) depression, anxiety, disassociation, etc. Often medications are used to manage these sxs. There are some schools of thought that also employ various therapies, such as dbt for borderline personality disorder, as well. If you are more specific.
