Many options: Occipital neuralgia can be treated many ways from conservative: rest, heat, altering the way you sleep on a pillow, to massage, osteopathic manipulation, chiropractic options, medications such as anti-inflammatories or muscle relaxants. If any or all of these fail, in my opinion the two best ways to treat it is with occipital injections or decompressive greater occipital nerve surgery.
