After effects linger: It is possible to have a cold for 5-7 days, but to have lingering runny nose, postnasal drip, congestion of the nose, sinuses, and ears. If you are worsening or things suddenly worsen, " double sickening", then it may be a bacterial infection. You should consider seeing your doctor at this point
