Maybe: There are dozens of HPV strains in this family of viruses that affect humans. Two strains are associated with genital warts, while at least 7 strains are associated with cervical & other cancers. In the pre-vaccine era as many as 70% of women in their 20's has HPV antibodies in their system.Over a lifetime some go on to have cervical cancer.Screening PAP smears allow for early recognition & treatment
