Could be reflux?: I am guessing this is happening after you go to bed, or perhaps it is awakening you at night? If so, you could be experiencing acid reflux. The highly acidic stomach contents can slosh up into the esophagus - and to the structures of the back of the throat. Some people have pain, some cough, some get hoarse, and some wheeze! this is a treatable problem, but you must be diagnosed. See the doctor.

Possibilities..,: Possible etiologies of your symptoms include post-nasal drip or gerd. Other possibilities include bronchospasm from any cause or a combination of these factors. All of these possibilities have different treatments so see your doctor to determine the precise diagnosis in your case. Best of luck to you!
