A member asked:

I was born with one kidney (right kidney). no issues so far, but what preventative steps should i take ? what does my renal artery connect to?

No big deal: No action on your part is required. The side without the kidney has no renal artery.

Few things: The renal artery connects a branch of the descending aorta to the kidney. I would avoid taking up horse riding or similar endeavors that might result in a fall that could injure the remaining kidney.
