Possibly + skin care: Dermabrasion may help to aggressively exfoliate the skin and minimize obstruction of the sebaceous glands which can lead to increased black heads. However, this alone will not necessarily decrease the incidence of black heads and good skin care with topical or oral retinoids as well as occasional comedone (black head) extraction may all be effective in decreasing the incidence of blackheads.
