Chicken soup: Without treatment your cold will last a week, and with treatment it will only last 7 days :-). But there is some evidence that chicken soup, zinc, and rest can help.

Immunity boost: Get 30-45 minutes of sunshine daily at noon or take a vitamin D3 (10,000 IU/day) supplement and good quality probiotic daily. Also, taking a zinc supplement ~50 mg/day may help prevent catching colds. Chicken soup and throat coat liquorice tea help too.
