Not adhernt: The disc is made up of three basic structures: the nucleus pulposus, the annulus fibrosus and the vertebral end-plates, and with the exception of the nucleus pulposus, the foregoing structures are all innervated by pain-carrying nerve fiber. The nucleus propulsusis not adhernt to bone.
