Safe With Proper Use: Dhea is a precursor to both male and female sex hormones, primarily testosterone and other androgens, and secondarily estrogen. Low dhea may lead to lower levels of testosterone and other hormonal imbalances. It has direct effects on short term memory, stress hormone levels, skin, muscle, and hair to name a few. Excessive dhea can lead to problems like oily skin or acne, or male pattern hair loss.

DHEA: should never be taken w/out a lab test to determine one's DHEA level. It is sold over the counter in the US but in Europe it is a controlled substance. Please see your doctor. He/she may choose to do a hormone panel and you will know the levels of your hormones. It is dangerous otherwise. Peace and good health.
