Possibly: Since your periods vary some it is possible you checked the pregnancy test too early to detect a pregnancy. Wait 3-5 more days then check again. If your pregnancy test is still negative then and your period still hasn't come then you could get a blood pregnancy test, which is more accurate to detect early pregnancies.
