Prolactin: It sounds like your pituitary gland is producing an excess of prolactin, the hormone that brings on milk production. When elevated this hormone can partly or totally block ovulation, therefore changing your periods. Get a prolactin blood test, and if elevated get it treated.

Pituitary tumor?: The pituitary gland is very important in controlling many bodily hormone functions. These include lh, fsh, tsh, gh and prolactin. The latter is the one that may be involved in lactation. Lh and fsh are involved in controlling menstrual cycle. Therefore, it is possible you have a pituitary tumor. Almost all are benign tumors. They can be managed by surgery, medical manipulation, or radiation.
