Endometritis: An infection of the uterus is called endometritis, and is most commonly seen after having a baby. This may be related to an infection present during labor. If the infection includes the fallopian tubes, then this is called pelvic inflammatory disease, and is more likely related to a sexually transmitted disease. In either case, a gynecologist should evaluate and treat this condition.
