Check for C.diff.: Your stool should be checked for clostridium difficile toxin as i assume you received antibiotics while you were in the hospital. If the test is positive you should receive oral vancomycin plus probiotics. If its negative you could try small doses of immodium no more than 2 tablets per day plus probiotics like vsl#3.

Possible c diff coli: If it persist esp if associated fevers need to rule c diff colites as cause especially if you had antibiotics with or around your surgery.
