can stopping alcohol consumption restore a healthy penis erection?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Robert Woods
29 years experience Psychiatry
Common Problem: Where alcohol can help an individual relax and create an atmosphere more conducive to having sex, it commonly can interfere with a man's ability to achieve and maintain an erection. So if alcohol consumption is causing this problem, stopping the alcohol would restore a normal healthy erection. There are other causes of erectile difficulty and one should discuss it with their physician.
