What is the definition or description of: paresis?

Weakness: Paresis means weakness or inability to move a body part, often used to describe a neurologic condition. For example para-paresis means someone can not move their legs, hemiparesis refers to someone being unable to move one side of their body, such as their right arm and right leg.

Weakness: Implies weakness of muscles anywhere in body such as arms, legs, face, as contrasted to plegia which is paralysis.
