Lung tissue disease: Ild is a group of diseases affecting the tissues of the lungs. This is a broad group that includes asbestosis, silicosis and other chemical assaults. Varied group of dis: Interstitial lung disease is a group of various conditions that affect the thin tissue between the airspaces in the lung. These disorders lead to thickening, fibrosis & scarring of the lung over time, making it difficult for patients to breathe. They can be caused by exposure to environmental toxins, certain drugs, infections, autoimmune disorders, genetic problems & some idiopathic illnesses.
