A female asked:

What one blood test will tell if someone has a parasitic infection? (going to s asia.)

Dr. Ed Friedlander
Pathology 46 years experience
None: No single blood test will give the diagnosis of all parasitic infections. Anyone who tells you otherwise is practicing fringe medicine. Be careful on your trip, get your required immunizations and take malaria prophylaxis as recommended, and when you return should you develop any illness let your physician know your travel history. Have a good trip.
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
