Depends: I am not sure if you're looking for a medication that would cause either of these. I wouldn't recommend anything like that. But simply heat or cold cause vasodilation and vasoconstriction respectively. Early on, cooling an extremity injury helps with decreasing inflammation. Later (24 to 48 hrs), heating may help in promoting circulation.
