Different from RA!: It is not rheumatoid arthritis in a child, which is uncommon. Most young people with jia can do quite well and lead completely normal lives, if treated shortly after developing their illness. Illness makes you appreciate what's important!

Get proper treatment: Be sure to see a board certified pediatric rheumatologist. There is no reason to suffer with this disease considering how highly effective the medications now available.General pediatricians and family medicine docs are not familiar or comfortable with using weekly low dose Methotrexate and tnf inhibitors that are needed to control 99% of kids with correctly diagnosed jra. Nsaids are not enough rx.
