I just had paraguard inserted a week ago and since then i've had excessive vaginal discharge with trace amounts of blood. will this stop eventually?

IUD: It is common to have spotting after insertion of an iud. This can last for 1 to several weeks. It is from the lining of the uterus getting used to having the iud there. You may also notice your period being somewhat heavier with the paragard.
