Any number of causes: Red itchy bumps can be caused by rubbing, dry skin, chemicals or other irritants, ringworm, folliculitis, or even from systemic diseases. If they do not resolve with gentle cleansing, moisturizing lotion, application of topical antibiotic and/ or antifungal cream, or topical steroid cream within a couple of weeks, you should have them evaluated by your doctor.
