Great question: Anorexia can effect people in many ways socially. For example, the person with anorexia can be afraid to go out to eat with friends, because excuses will have to be made up for not eating. In addition, people with anorexia often have low self esteem and body image issues, so dating and intimacy can sometimes be challenging. Seeing a mental health professional is very important to fight anorexia.
