Pus comes out from a boil, should i press it?

Boil treatment: A boil is usually a staph infection and is therefore infectious. If drainage comes out easily from a boil, there is no real harm in pressing it to express the drainage. Please wash hands and the area well with antibacterial soap after doing so. If it is not resolving or if you experience fever or expanding pain and redness, see your local health professional.
