Probably unrelated : A very long period can be due to a lot of things. If your periods are irregular (skip > 6 weeks between periods) they can be heavier; thyroid problems can cause heavier/longer periods; sometimes ovarian cysts can disrupt normal menstrual cycles. Patients who are overweight tend to have heavier &/or longer periods. But it could be due to a pregnancy - and that needs to be checked for.
