Hole in the brain: A lacunar infarct is a small dot where normal tissue may have been damaged leaving a small hole. This can show as a dark dot on mri. The cause should be explored. Causes may include hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, clotting disorder, etc. It may be an incidental finding of no definite cause. Discuss these issues with your doctor.
