Call 911 Immediately: Go the nearest er immediately or call 911. This infection is not as common thanks to immunizations but still is seen...Albeit rarely. The flap of tissue covering the trachea or airway gets infected and inflamed and your airway gets obstructed. Immediate antibiotics and close airway monitoring is paramount. This is a true emergency if you have this type of infection.

Emergency care: This can easily result in sudden death if not treated immediately.There is no herbs or home remedies.These patients sit up and lean forward.They are unable to swallow their own spit.If you force them to lay down the epiglottis can spasm shut and they will die. If you suspect it go to the nearest emergency facility.
