No cure: Sore throat and cough are symptoms of wide range of diseases, most common being throat infection (pharyngitis). Some drugs, asthma, heart burn, lung cancer, allergic rhintis etc can cause those symptoms. So we have to treat the underlying problem and the symptoms will automatically go away or get better. So talk to your doctor for the evaluation of the underlying problem.

Cough and soreness: If your sore throat and cough has been present with fever for more than 2 to 3 days, see your doctor. Your can try throat lozenges and cough droops for the cough. To help break up the cough plain cough medication without cough suppressants should help. Drink lots of fluids and consider tea with honey to sooth your throat.
