im 38 weeks pregnant and my vagina is extremely sore... why is this and is it normal?

Can be normal: By late pregnancy it is common for the vagina to feel irritated or swollen. This is due to the extra blood flow to the vagina and the changes that happen there to let a baby fit through. However pregnant women are also more prone to vaginal infections such as yeast or bacterial vaginosis. If you have itching, irritation, or fishy odor it could be an infection. Check with your provider.
