Difficult: Drugs should only be used for severe obesity with complications, and where diet and exercise have already been tried. Qsymia and dietylpropion both contain stimulants which can be addictive and increase the risk of heart damage. For that reason, Belviq (lorcaserin) has advantages. It can also be given with other heart safe drugs like orlistat and topiramate.
