Yes: An anal fistula is an abnormal, infected channel (tract) with an internal opening in the anal canal and an external opening in the skin near the anus or rectum. Anal fistulae can present with many different symptoms: pain, discharge - either bloody or purulent, pruritus ani - itching, or systemic symptoms if abscess becomes infected.

Fistulas can : Put blood in the stool but truly bloody stools are not likely unless the fistula is a manifestation of crohn's disease. In any case all bloody stools need a prompt evaluation and diagnosis and treatment. Do not delay.
