Eth. estradiol lgest: First of all nothing prevents cancer, if anything, estrogen rich drugs could actually speed up development of some cancers. Second, some of the facts are available on http://www.Drugs.Com/mtm/levora.Html - but you need to discuss this with you practitioner, the one who prescribed the ethinyl Estradiol and Levonorgestrel to you. Are you at risk for any of the cancers?

Depends: It reduces ovarian cancer risk by 50% for up to 10 years. It usually does not make fibroids grow, but in some patients it can. It has other side effects which must be weighed against the benefits. Smokers have a much higher risk of stroke or blood clots on the pill.
