Chicken allergy: Chicken allergy is an immunologic reaction to consumption of chicken. Some children will have a condition known as food protein induced enterocolitis in which they developed delayed symptoms of diarrhea and abdominal pain hours after consumption of chicken. Others may have an immediate allergic reaction via an ige mediated mechanism characterized by hives, itch, swelling, cough, wheeze, vomiting.
