Many different thing: Overuse injuries are injuries to bones, tendons, ligaments or muscles that are the results or over training, improper training or use of the wrong equipment. Examples are shin splints or stress fractures in runners, rotator tendonitis in swimmers or pitchers, patella tendonitis in basketball players. You need to train properly slowly increase your intensity and duration of training.

Overuse Syndrome: Repetitive strain injuries are "injuries of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems that may be caused by repetitive tasks, forceful exertions, vibrations, mechanical compression (pressing against hard surfaces), or sustained or awkward positions". Rsi is also known as cumulative trauma disorders or overuse syndrome.
