Max -5mg in 24 hrs: Manufacturer's maximum dose is 5 mg/24 hrs for children ages 2- 5 years. Half (1/2) teaspoonful of Claritin (loratadine) syrup is 2.5mg. If you prefer syrup over chewable tablets and must give your child a dose at night and in morning , then give 1/2 teaspoonful in morning and night. Doses > 5 mg increases risks of side effects (restlessness, fatigue, headaches). See doctor if baby not improving. Take care.
