Fungus: This sounds like a fungal infection. This could be "ringworm" (tinea corporis) or tinea versicolor. If it is tinea corporis, then it is contagious. If it is tinea versicolor, then it is more of a nuisance, but can be challenging to control. I would see your pcp or a dermatologist to get an actual diagnosis.
