Doctor can evaluate: A primary care doctor and a dermatologist can evaluate to see if there is a medical problem that is causing the pain sensations. The doctor may check for signs of infection, allergic reaction, and/or inflammation. One should write down for the doctor any medications, cosmetics, and hair products that one uses.

Possibilities: Consider a neurological cause of pain, such as an injured nerve or a neuralgia (e.g. Trigeminal neuralgia http://j.Mp/vgyzi0). Symptoms like these deserve a full evaluation in person by your health care provider.
