Where is the pain: Exactly where and when is the pain, the hip area is big and could be the joint or the bursa. If you were running and was agravated by running, walk or jog (deep end of the pool with a floating vest), continue the benefits of running with help of boujancy and no strain.

May be bursa: Hip pain is usually in the groin or referred to the buttock area. Outer thigh pain is often from bursitis. A bursa is a fluid filled sack that acts as a shock absorber. The trochanteric bursa is located at the upper outer thigh and often gets inflamed. Hip pain sometimes is referred from a pinched nerve in your lower back. Consider seeing a physiatrist or sports medicine doctor.
