Carefully, because: Methamphetamines constrict blood vessels & can cause prenatal "strokes" or small cystic areas in the brain, tiny fingernails & toenails, small fingers & toes, especially the 5th digits, rapid heart & respiratory rates the 1st 3 months. Calm, even sluggish 1st few mos., then hyperactive as early as 11 mos. With executive functions deficits later. Early intervention helps + no further exposure.

Urine/poo: If there is any suspicion, the obvious initial steps involve testing mom's urine at delivery for drugs.Baby could also have it in their pee, but the poo of a newborn can contain traces of drug that remain from exposures several months back.
